Can I recycle my straw?
Even though a straw is made from plastic, it is not accepted at recycling centers. This is a huge problem in the US since we use an estimated 500 million straws every day. Did you know that it can take up to 200 years for a straw to decompose in a landfill and often they end up in our oceans and streams?
Starting this summer, use less straws!
