Chicago Scenic Studios Names Theme Park Industry Veteran to Head Up Florida Operations
The leading creator of unique, engaging, and crowd-pleasing experiences – Chicago Scenic Studios – has named seasoned theme park industry insider, Jason Ohlsen, as the new head of the company’s Florida office.
Ohlsen joins Chicago Scenic with more than 20 years of experience leading projects and providing design direction for theme parks, aquariums, museums, and other attractions.
“We’re pleased to have Jason on board and on-site in Florida, where he has helped manage the development, fabrication, and installation of show set elements and exhibits for some of the world’s largest theme parks and attractions,” said Blasko Ristic, President of Chicago Scenic Studios. “We are building on Chicago Scenic’s deep experience in the theme park industry – which is gaining momentum and aiming at pre-pandemic visitor traffic. We’re excited to help many of the great theme park, aquarium, and museum companies engage visitors at the highest levels,” Ristic added.
Prior to Chicago Scenic, Jason was in project management roles for Themeworks, Inc. and The Companies of Nassal. He has been a part of the teams that won a 2020 THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement for a project at the St. Louis Aquarium and a 2018 THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement for a project at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
“With our new Florida operations, Chicago Scenic builds on a strong client legacy in the theme park, aquarium, and museum spaces,” said Jason Ohlsen. “I’m excited to join one of the best teams in the business and look forward to providing clients with the excellent service they’ve come to expect from Chicago Scenic,” he added.
Chicago Scenic leaders will be on-hand at the upcoming annual conference of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) from November 15-18 in Orlando, Florida.
Chicago Scenic serves clients across a broad range – from theme parks and museums to tech firms and retail chains, TV broadcast companies, architecture and design firms, cruise ship operators, car makers, experiential agencies, municipalities, and more.
