Crown Imports wanted a compelling and ultra-engaging way to showcase the range of beer brands they offer as guests visited their corporate lobby. Teams discussed the idea of anchoring a realistic glass of beer to the lobby waiting area, presenting a range of challenges requiring innovative solutions.

Working with multiple vendors, Chicago Scenic custom-built an 8-foot-tall acrylic pint glass.  It holds more than 300 gallons of water and changes color to mimic different beer brands Crown Imports distributes. Teams spent weeks researching custom food dyes, how to effectively recreate carbonation and, most importantly, how to control it.

Water and dye levels are self-monitored and maintained by a PLC unit one floor below the lobby.

To finish off the impactful brand display, a projector casts different logos on the glass itself. As the logos change, so do the corresponding beer’s color and effervescence level so that the display is truly representative of the Crown product.
