When the Welk Resort decided to bring the Broadway hit ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ to their stage, they called upon Chicago Scenic to design and build a hard-working set that could withstand the continuous live shows and easily be broken down, set up and stored.
Because durability was a key issue, teams built multiples of certain elements to last years of fast-paced theatrics. Budget-friendly materials were used to create collapsible walls that are stored in the stage’s fly system, and custom carts make for easy off-site storage of the rest of the production’s set.
