Auto Body/Fiber Glass Finisher

Chicago Scenic seeks to hire an experienced auto body/fiber glass finisher.

Responsibilities:

Perform all aspects of the finishing process for Chicago Scenic’s custom parts, including filling, sanding, buffing and masking products prior to sanding or painting.
Remove mask and touch-up painted surfaces prior to presentation to quality inspection.
Buffing or polishing any imperfection on units to meet our workmanship and industry standards for parts finishing.
Follows all Chicago Scenic safety procedures as per company policies.
Adhere to all safety warnings and guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
Operate tools, machines, and equipment safely
Select and evaluate materials for potential defects
Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints or specified by the Department Head
Maintain a clean and tidy
Attend onsite work calls and installation calls to maintain or repair work as needed
Any additional tasks as requested by the Paint and Finishing Department Head

Qualifications:

Knowledge of English
Auto body repair experience
Bondo fiber glass repair experience
Ability to operate saws, sander, hand tools, and other basic carpentry tools
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift objects weighing fifty pounds or less
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp build requirements
Must have experience with all areas related to the processes of sanding and filling
Physically fit and good hand-eye coordination
Knowledge of mathematics

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform and pass a fit test for a respirator
Standing for prolonged periods, climbing, pulling, and lifting objects weighing fifty pounds or less
Sporadic overtime and travel for job related installs, strikes, or necessary tasks
