What drove WYCC’s need for a new set was the launch of “In the Loop”, a new public affairs show. As a show addition, WYCC management needed a set that could accommodate both the old and new programming, and broadcast with a range of set-ups.
The result was an emphasis on versatility and a set that provides the maximum number of camera angles and interview configurations.
The set’s large size – more than 80 running feet – allowed the Chicago Scenic team to provide three unique sets. One area featured a main anchor desk; a second space offered a side set that accommodated a standing reporter for breaking news reports, and a third set featured a warm and intimate area for on camera features.
