Located liberally throughout the exhibit, signs provide information about many topics, including the Zoo's conservation efforts, background information on the animals, and even interactive opportunities such as the one found in the "Compare yourself to a Polar Bear" exhibit sign.

In the exhibit area dedicated to bison, visitors are captivated by a tunnel that features colorful graphics about the history of bison on the Great Plains. That tunnel is also home to a 60-foot-long mural of a bison herd, painted by Kevin Taylor, one of Chicago Scenic's scenic artists. Visitors who stroll through the tunnel can gaze through a window at bison grazing just feet away.

Zoo designers worked diligently to ensure that every detail of the exhibit contributed to its overall unified look. Visitors will see that even the signs are designed to fit into the "wilderness" theme. When Zoo staff learned that they would need to take down several trees to accommodate this new exhibit, they asked Chicago Scenic to repurposed the tree trunks into benches for the new exhibit.

Senior Project Managers Gary Heitz and Ken Zommer managed Chicago Scenic's contribution to the Zoo's popular new exhibit.
