Gary Heitz was the senior project manager on this job, overseeing the construction of the case which features a painted wood base and stainless steel framed laminated glass. The case is equipped with dust seals to preserve and maintain models of the USS Guadalcanal CVE-60 and the USS Pillsbury DE-133.

The ships were fabricated by Bill Waldorf of Waldorf Production Inc. in Florida, with a ship model scale of 1:96; the finished case measures 7-feet and 8-inches by 5-feet.

Heitz worked with the museum's Senior Exhibits Project Manager Jeff Johnson and Staff Designer Grant Haring during the case development, construction and installation.
