In 2001 Chicago Scenic installed an exhibit designed by Chicago architect Doug Garofalo that demonstrated the influences architecture has had on space travel both in reality and fiction. Chicago Scenic built and installed the major components of the exhibit, consisting of a continuous fabric wall that stretches 150 feet around the curved gallery, painted and bent metal ribs to symbolize the distinctive skeletal framework of a spaceship.
