Auto Shows

At the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, CSSI worked with Clear!Blue to provide scenery and automation for General Motors’ highly anticipated press event. Chicago Scenic’s new automation system was used to fully integrate video with automated rotating LED-covered walls and the 16- and 18-foot turntables that allowed a 360° view of their newest cars. CSSI also provided many of the other elements of the set, including an oversized hanging screen surround, cyc wall, as well as the steps and the stage leading up to the set and press risers.

Chicago Scenic’s new heavy-duty turntables and automation system integrate well with high tech press reveals.

The 2007 Chicago Auto Show press events also featured many Chicago Scenic projects. Working with marketing agency George P. Johnson on the Toyota and Scion press events, CSSI provided three turntables and two tracking LED walls, all of which were controlled by the company’s new automation system. Chicago Scenic also provided a 4,000-sq. ft. deck and ramps for the cars to drive on, support structures for large LED panels and screen, and a fabric backdrop to complete the environment.

CSSI also worked on projects with carmakers Volkswagen and Dodge during the 2007 auto show season. Working with MVP Collaborative on a Volkswagen event, CSSI provided a 36-foot-long wall and covering and also was the supervisor for installation. For Dodge’s press event CSSI built a unique construction site with units of plywood and featured scaffolding towers, a large scrim backdrop, press risers and several banners.
