Allstate’s Mayhem Event

When Leo Burnett was tasked with designing a promotion for Allstate at the Sugar Bowl, they called upon Chicago Scenic to help create ‘Mayhem’.

For four years, Chicago Scenic has shipped two repurposed school buses to an empty New Orleans parking lot, then rigged them together in a crash pose.

Teams work in the days leading up to Christmas to wrap new decals of the participating football teams around the buses - each of which has been stripped of its engine and fluids. Once on-site, the front bumpers bolt together high up in the air, and back bumpers are connected to steel plates on the ground to create a large metal triangle.

The buses are kept in place for weeks at a time, through any weather conditions. Now a popular New Orleans photo opportunity with an ever-changing audience, the experience creates a fun and relevant reminder to auto insurance buyers of all ages.
