Chicago's Annual Christmas Parade

Michigan Avenue and State Street

1983-1999

Chicago Scenic provided production management and design services for Chicago's annual Christmas parade for over 15 years.

What may seem like a one-day event to the average parade-goer is really a year-round project. From securing corporate sponsorships and national television coverage, to designing and building many of the spectacular floats, Chicago Scenic handled every detail necessary to pull off this event attended by over 500,000 people each year and seen nationally by millions on television.

The small, dedicated staff that worked exclusively on the parade throughout the year was supplemented with additional staff and hundreds of volunteers as the big day drew closer. Chicago Scenic worked tirelessly in concert with other organizations, including the Chicago police and fire departments along with many volunteer and marketing organizations to make sure that the event and its promotions were flawless.

In addition to producing the entire event and building many of the event's floats and inflatables, Chicago Scenic managed the many high school bands, equestrian units, celebrities, and community groups that made the event so special.

To complete the picture, Chicago Scenic secured and managed all of the event's corporate sponsors along with the local and national television coverage, making sure that the event's 10,000 participants were seen across the country.
