Chicago

1994

Working with Opryland Productions, Chicago Scenic acted as the local producer and services provider for the 1994 World Cup Opening Ceremonies.

Chicago Scenic secured and managed the many organizations and contractors that made this world-class event flawless. Responsible for recruiting and coordinating over 2,000 volunteers and performers, hiring all personnel from special effects and pyrotechnic experts to logistic and transportation providers, Chicago Scenic's production and event management staff worked tirelessly for three months to pull off this world-class event that was hosted by Oprah Winfrey, and featured Jon Secada, Diana Ross, and President Bill Clinton.

Chicago Scenic built and installed all of the scenery and large-scale props designed by Rene Lagler for this internationally televised event. From concept to permitting through final installation, Chicago Scenic's project management team followed through on all aspects of the project's budgeting, planning, construction, and installation.

Technical direction and stage management also fell under Chicago Scenic's scope, which involved managing all of the logistics for the 35-minute show. Every aspect of the show from sound and pyrotechnics to the 100,000-piece balloon release and F-16 flyby were planned, coordinated, and executed seamlessly by the staff assembled by Chicago Scenic.
