Chicago
Scenic has been working on events and projects for United
Airlines ever since they called on a Friday afternoon ten
years ago asking Scenic to turn their terminal at Chicago's
O'Hare International Airport into a Parisian playground to
celebrate their new direct flight to Paris that was to start
in five days. From curbside check-in to the gate, Chicago
Scenic put together a celebration that included mimes, accordian
players, cancan dancers, and an Eiffel Tower to celebrate
the first flight of United's nonstop service to Paris. Food
service pavilions were created and themed, and banners were
hung overnight so the first passengers to arrive for the flight
would be greeted by gendarmes and organ grinders at curbside
check-in and could continue into the terminal to sample French
cuisine.
Since
then Chicago Scenic has provided logistics and planning of
the celebrations for many of United's route openings both
at O'Hare and around the world, including Tokyo, Frankfort,
London, and Sao Paulo. Chicago Scenic has also planned and
staged various meetings and events for United's employees
and customers ranging from sales meetings and press conferences
to the presentation of Aretha Franklin at the 1996 Democratic
National Convention celebration in Chicago's Grant Park.
Chicago
Scenic also designed, built, and installed United's corporate
television studios in order to recreate corporate boardrooms
and offices for video presentations to their customers and
employees.
