Chicago Scenic built and installed an exhibit, designed by
Chicago architect Stanley Tigerman, for the Chicago Historical
Society that honors Hedrich Blessing, a world-renowned architectural
photography firm.
The
primary photography exhibit consists of four large geometric
shapes that house light boxes displaying photographic transparencies.
These shapes include a six-foot-diameter tetrahedron and an
eight-foot-diameter sphere, which presented a special challenge
because they were too large to install as single units and
had to be prefabricated, disassembled, and then moved to the
museum, where they were reassembled and finished in the gallery.
Additional elements in the display were small, stylized mannequins
seated on benches, each of which represents a Hedrich Blessing
employee. These were incorporated into a historical display
that dealt with the firm's history.
