Chicago
Scenic, working with producer Ricky Kirshner and designer Rene
Lagler, assembled the 2001 Quadrennial Teamster Convention held
at Las Vegas' Paris Hotel.
The project
required the installation and decoration of six large video
projection screens, four hung in the conference hall and two
onstage, projecting information and images to the 10,000 Teamsters
in attendance.
Stage
and podium elements included an automated lectern that adjusted
to the speaker's height at the touch of a button, decorative
hardwall fronts, writing desks for the dais, and two giant
Teamster logos that were created by Chicago Scenic's paint
department.
For efficiency
and convenience, Chicago Scenic created six floor mic positions
with illuminated pylons that were controlled from the podium
by the convention manager.
Onsite
installation of the scenic elements was supervised by a Chicago
Scenic project manager and lead carpenter, who worked closely
with the show's producer and technical director. The entire
project was completed in just four weeks.
