General Motors reveals its plug-in hybrid car
General Motors unveiled the production version of its new Chevrolet Volt, a plug-in hybrid car, as part of the automaker’s 100th anniversary celebration at Detroit’s GM Renaissance Center in September.
Working for Jack Morton Productions, Chicago Scenic built the tracking LED walls that opened up to allow the car to enter the stage. GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz drove the car out for its first public debut and parked it on a Chicago Scenic turntable that rotated so the audience could see the car from all sides. CSSI also provided the stage, proscenium, and window graphics for the set that was designed by Jaki Johnson, along with supervising the project installation.
