Eats Up General Mills' Cereal Adventure
Working with
PCL Construction, Shea Architects and General Mills, CSSI is helping
create Cereal Adventure, a family entertainment center for General
Mills at the Mall of America in Minnesota’s Twin Cities. CSSI is
building and installing the primary attraction of the adventure
which, in its entirety, will occupy approximately 25,000 sq. ft.
over two floors.
The primary
attraction CSSI is constructing is called “Seed to Shelf,” an interactive
experi-ence in which kids walk through a factory that represents
how cereal is made in a fun and interactive way. Kids can ride a
bike whose wheels turn a dough mixer that they can walk through,
along with seeing a giant toaster, a giant dough extruder, and even
a volcano that kids can make erupt, causing it to spew giant Cheerios.
CSSI is also working on another Cereal Adventure pavilion, dubbed
U-Rule, that involves kids designing their own cereal concoctions
that they can purchase and take home with them. CSSI Project Manager
John Beckman has been workingfor over six months with CSSI’s designers
and Shea’s design team to keep this project on time and on budget.
The attraction is scheduled to open at the Mall of America this
June.
