Burnett Breakfast Takes on MTV
The Burnett Breakfast continued in its tradition of original themes this year with a takeoff of MTV’s irreverent award shows.

Held at the Chicago Theatre, CSSI built a runway over the orchestra pit, transforming it into a mosh pit filled with Burnett employees. The runway featured a trap door that allowed for surprise guest entrances.

The set was anything but typical, with speakers making their entrance onto the stage via an oversized slide, which was flanked by a huge lava lamp designed with the help of lighting designer Patrick Chan.

CSSI has been producing the staging for Leo Burnett’s breakfasts for more than 15 years, providing lighting, scenery, labor and production, stage management services and anything else required to get the job done for this annual event. Project Manager Gary Heitz worked with Leo Burnett’s Tom Weeks, Tom Ryan designed the set, Joe Strange led the job in the shop, and Russell Pharr was onsite for the installation.
