CSSI Makes McDonald's Smile
Chicago Scenic made McDonald's smile with its work on the set for its touring managers' meeting this summer. The set consisted of two large curved arch trusses which support rear projection screens which were covered with artistic gold sheet metal, mimicking the famous Golden Arches.

CSSI also constructed two staircases and a launch ramp to support rollerbladers and skateboarders performing on their landings and railings. A rolling dancer platform slid under the DJ booth to reveal a trampoline under the stage. Topping off the show was a stunning special effect that involved a large electrical plug emblazoned with McDonald's logo that when "plugged in," lit up rope lights suspended above the set.

Project Managers Gary Heitz and Garrett Todd worked with Creative Director Mike Meth and the show's producer, Nancy Lombardi of Tour Productions, while John Woodward led the job through the shop. The set was designed by Tom Cariello of Corporate Scenographics. Tom Podiak was the show's technical director. Chuck McCullough of McDonald's was the shows' staging supervisor.
