Hot Mikado Heats Up Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire
For the second time in ten years, the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire staged the jazzy Gilbert and Sullivan adaptation Hot Mikado, and this time Chicago Scenic was called in to help bring the popular show back to life. Project Manager Mark Ewing and Job Lead Wayne Adams worked on this production, which runs through June 29th.

The set is composed of stylized Japanese-inspired garden set- tings including a pagoda with a paper roof, a wooden footbridge, illuminated shoji screen headers, and a flown moon.
Designer Tom Ryan worked with the concept of mixing architectural finishes, such as fine woods and metals, with organic shapes and forms. One example of this can be seen on the set's vegetation. To create the look, large paper fans were painted in gold and silver tones and then attached to the shoji screens to simulate leaves and greenery.
