Reaches Its Zenith with Celebrity Cruiselines
With the help
of CSSI, Celebrity Cruiselines was able get the show on the road,
(or on the sea as the case may be) on their ship the Zenith. The
new production, developed by the cruiseline and designed to showcase
singers and dancers, involves backdrops, a traveling track system
and a platform stage.
Working with
Celebrity’s Producer Jim D’Amico, CSSI’s Senior Project Manager
Ken Zommer made sure there was nothing but smooth sailing as he
supervised the project that was completed in just three weeks.
Tom Ryan designed the multi-themed backdrops that were hung on
a custom traveling track system built to allow for manual movement
of the pieces. The painted backdrops portray images of The Cotton
Club, an American town square, a Vegas-themed collage, and a composite
of Broadway and the New York City skyline. The flexible platform
stage system was designed and built with the ability to be reconfigured
into five different sets. CSSI’s Joel Gordon, Mark Goeke, and Nick
Levinsky set sail on the Zenith during installation.
