Rockettes Rock Again
For the third year in a row, Chicago Scenic worked on multiple productions of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

This time Chicago Scenic provided a new painted scrim along with a few other scenic elements for the Branson production and a new Santa's Candy Castle backdrop for Detroit's show. Chicago Scenic also did touch-up work for the local production in Rosemont, Illinois. Ken

Zommer was Chicago Scenic's project manager. The shows were designed by Joe Stewart and John Shaffner.

Viva Las Vegas: CSSI Builds Hunchback of Notre Dame for Paris Hotel Show
Chicago Scenic recently built part of the scenery and props for the first English language production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, now playing at at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.

CSSI provided backdrops, scrims and large flying set pieces of a gothic stained glass window and jail that were 30'-tall and 80'-wide. Chicago Scenic also provided props including an internally illuminated bed, rolling wood pallets and French barricades, the rolling jail cell Esmerelda gets locked in, and the giant torture wheel that Quasimodo gets strapped to. One of the show's stunts that Chicago Scenic constructed involves a dancer performing on a 30'-long articulated I-beam while it flies across the stage.

Project Manager Ken Zommer worked with the show's consulting producer, Chuck Gayton to complete this job. Dan Yuen led the job through the shop and went on site to supervise the show's installation. The show opened in mid-January and is on an open-ended run.
