CSSI helps celebrate Swiss culture in Daley Plaza
In celebration of Switzerland's culture, trade, commerce and tourism, Chicago Scenic worked with the Swiss Consulate to create a Swiss village in Daley Plaza for a week-long event this September. Hundreds of thousands of Chicagoans have a better understanding of Switzerland after participating in Swiss Week Chicago. Swiss Week also celebrated the recent signing of the Lucerne, Switzerland and Chicago Sister Cities Agreement.

Chicago Scenic planned and implemented the event's overall decor and design, including tent headers and signage for approximately 30 vendors, highlighting products and services from Switzerland. CSSI also built the chalet facade as a background for the performance stage. Tom Ryan designed these elements.

A highlight of Swiss Week was the artistic representation of the Lucerne Tower. CSSI assembled scaffolding to recreate Lucerne's eight-sided icon. Each of the tower's sides featured photo-quality images on 4' x 6' panels, representing eight elements of the city's unique culture.

Unit Manager and Sales Rep Phil Purevich worked with David Kouidri and Beatrice Weiss of the Swiss Consulate, and Ross Hamilton and Garrett Todd assisted as project managers. Ralph Concepcion and Bryan Cory of Ravenswood Special Events managed onsite operations. Dan Yuen and Bill Palmer installed and dismantled CSSI's work and were on call during Swiss Week to make any last minute changes.
