Chicago Scenic to move into facility twice current size
After the first of the year, CSSI will move to Chicago's Goose Island, almost tripling its current space to 140,000 sq. ft. CSSI will initially take on 100,000 sq. ft., leasing out the extra space. One of the building's best features is that the extra space will allow for future expansion.

Each department in the shop will see their respective space grow by 50% to 100%. In addition, three large set-up bays (two at 50' wide x 30' high x 250' long and one at 50' wide x 30' high x 250' long) with bridge cranes and plenty of natural light will help jobs flow better through the shop.

The existing work spaces will be reconfigured to meet Chicago Scenic's unique needs. A major change in office layout will facilitate total project team integration. Pods with work areas for a unit manager and two project managers, a conference area, and work stations for the leadmen assigned to the unit's projects, along with plan files and computer stations will be created adjacent to the shop floor. This arrangement will allow for improved communication between the production teams and shop personnel.

Chicago Scenic's purchase of this building was made possible through the use of Industrial Revenue Bonds provided through the City of Chicago's Department of Planning and Development.
