Fox News broadcast RNC ins and outs from two anchor desks

Fox News covered the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis from two Chicago Scenic-built anchor desks: one inside the convention center and one in the outdoor Fox News tent. In the tent, CSSI also built out the entire studio, providing railings, walls, workstation partitions, signage, platforming and a Fox graphic lightbox.

CSSI built the pieces in Chicago, shipped them to St. Paul and supervised the installation. CSSI staff remained onsite in Minnesota to troubleshoot and oversee set removal at the end of the convention. CSSI worked directly with Fox News and designer Patrick Larson of Production Design Group.

CSSI plays starring role in Fox Sports set

What Fox Sports Network North in Minneapolis/St. Paul lacks in space is made up by an abundance of style. Working closely with designer Dan George, CSSI engineered and built the host’s news desk to fit in the network’s tight 100-square-foot space.

Two low-profile, five-inch-high light boxes dress up the host’s position, as do the LED-illuminated plexiglass fins that separate the light boxes on the desk’s front. An LED fin running across the top edge of the desk adds to the desk’s modern flair.
