Traveling
Photopanels Exhibit
The
Art Institute of Chicago's Department of Architecture Curator, John
Zukowsky, recently presented a challenge to CSSI Project Manger
Gary Heitz. The challenge was to create a traveling version of the
2001 Building for Space Travel exhibit (featured in the Spring '01
edition of Studio News), which was also built by Chicago
Scenic and managed by Gary Heitz.
The goal for the project was to recreate the experience of walking
through the exhibit without actually going to the Art Institute.
Utilizing Skyline Displays' Mirage pop-up display system, CSSI created
a 60-foot-long wall of pictures using a series of graphics panels.
Graphic Designer Chris Hallbeck incorporated photos of the permanent
exhibit into the traveling exhibit, thus completing the wall of
photos.
The traveling exhibit was displayed at JFK airport and is currently
at the Strategic Air and Space Museum in Ashcano, Nebraska. It will
then move to the American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum in Dallas,
Texas.
