Oprah brings her show & “Favorite Things” to Macon, Georgia
To reward loyal “Oprah Winfrey Show” fans in Macon, Ga. (where 45% of Macon’s TVs tune in every day), Oprah made top-secret plans to tape her annual “Favorite Things” episode.

The entire show was trucked down to Macon along with the custom set that Chicago Scenic built in just nine days. When the studio audience entered, they saw a re-creation of the Hays House, an historic Macon home.

But to their surprise, the windows, doors and porch flipped, turned and disappeared in just under two minutes to reveal the holiday-themed set where Oprah gave away her “favorite things.”

The nine-person Chicago Scenic crew was asked to join the road trip to install the set to help keep the show’s surprises under wraps for the studio audience.
