Turntables Can Spin Projects into Masterpieces
Chicago Scenic has developed a new line of rental turntables that can put a fresh new spin on almost any type of project from museum exhibits to auto shows to live events and corporate presentations.

Two of our turntables, 16- and 18-foot-diameter models, were used at GM’s press event at the North American International Auto Show, produced by Clear!Blue. These large turntables (along with the other models detailed at right) can be run manually or by pre-programmable computer-controlled commands. They can also interface with other machines, lighting or video through our new automation system, CSI Control. In particular, our 20-foot model features easy set up and has a higher capacity and rotation speed than most other commercially available turntables; it is able to hold up to 10,000 pounds in distributed weight or an 8,000-pound vehicle. The turntable’s center commutator is capable of running ethernet communications and 30 amps of three-phase power. Eighteen- and 20-foot low-profile turntables are currently under construction.

Sets Only the Beginning of Rental Items Available
Chicago Scenic is pleased to announce new rentals manager Ann Meilahn. Ann brings with her years of experience as an interior designer, set designer and prop designer, along with a substantial amount of theatrical rentals work as well.

Ann’s experience will serve her well in communicating and managing Chicago Scenic’s vast array of items available for both short- and long-term rental. Chicago Scenic’s new automation system and turntables (see story to the left for more information), along with confetti cannons, winches, chain motors, exhibit walls, flats, stages/risers (both steel and wood deck) and stairs are all available for rent. We also have a complete softgoods department that provides rental cycs, scrims and drapery. Several pre-fabricated sets round out the rental inventory, and we plan to provide some new additions soon.

A new computerized booking system is currently in place to make it easy to provide price quotes, make reservations, track inventory and produce invoices. To further advance the ease of renting at Chicago Scenic, plans are in place to feature the rentals catalog on our website, www.chicagoscenic.com, so customers can browse through it at their leisure. Plans are also underway to provide an informational packet to each rentals client. This packet will include assembly and operation instructions, flameproof certification (if required) and emergency contact information in case customers need assistance.

To contact Ann Meilahn for more information on rentals or to be alerted when the rentals catalog is posted online, call her at 312-274-9900, ext. 213, or email her at rentals@chicagoscenic.com.
