A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre
Working with production manager, Michael Hendricks, Chicago Scenic was contracted to build the scenic elements for the newest musical farce at the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”.
The set, designed by Tom Ryan, conveyed the look and feel of ancient Rome, and was created entirely with Chicago Scenic’s Computer Numeric Control (CNC) router. Extensive faux stone elements simulated the look and feel of the era including a unique stone floor pattern. Additionally, a 2’ 6” diameter motorized mask rotated between comic and tragic faces reinforcing the whimsical tone of the play.
