Custom Water Wall a Show Stopper at Tradeshow Booth
Todd Street Productions' producer Michael Portnoy was so impressed with Chicago Scenic's work on its tradeshow booth for architectural firm Steiner and Associates, they have already hired us back for next year! Brought into the project by Patrick Fahey, the designer of Radio City's Christmas Across America, which Chicago Scenic has worked on for years, CSSI hit the ground running to complete this impressive exhibit in under four weeks.

The elaborate booth's show stopping element at the entrance was a Chicago Scenic-engineered water wall made of custom art glass. The exhibit also used faux brick work developed by paint department head Kevin Taylor that looks and feels like brick without the actual weight of the real thing.

The oversized space had reception and lounge areas along with four meeting rooms. These spaces, among others, used an engineered wood floor with inlaid sisal carpets, and the walls were covered with designer fabrics woven from natural fibers.

Pyramid Builds Fun at Field Museum
To give children a hands-on learning experience and to tie together the temporary King Tut exhibit at Chicago's Field Museum with its permanent Egypt exhibit, Chicago Scenic created a soft foam pyramid for a gallery activity led by volunteers in the education department.

Designed by Field’s Gallery Programs Floor Manager Kathleen Donofrio, the pyramid blocks were cut out of flame-retardant upholstery foam, then coated with a tinted vinyl and then spattered with different colors to mimic white limestone. The top block was painted gold, as the original pyramids had golden tops.

Chicago Scenic then delivered them to the Field Museum in time for their advertised July 1 gallery debut.
