Chicago-based design/build entertainment firm, established in 1978, serving museum, corporate presentations, broadcast, theater, themed environment industries, seeks Project & Automation Manager/Mechanical Design Engineer.
Formal project management, automation/motion control and mechanical engineering experience required. Working knowledge of software programs, (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Project, Auto CAD, PLC programming), budgeting, and high level problem solving skills required.
Will work under the guidance of a Senior Level Manager to oversee design, fabrication, installation and coordination of all client and project team automation/mechanical activities. Will manage shop personnel and subcontractors to ensure accurate, timely and on-budget project completion.
Must demonstrate strong communication & interpersonal skills and exhibit high level of professionalism. Hands-on experience related to design, engineering (preliminary calculations for load, speed, weight and structure), estimating, and fabrication. PLC programming, hydraulics and electrical interface a plus.
