In response to increased demand from clients with projects
that require specialty sculptural talents, Chicago
Scenic turned to Kevin Taylor to fill the newly created position,
Project Specialist.
Chicago Scenic and Kevin were already well acquainted since
Kevin had spent more than eight years at the company as Paint
Department Head. After a brief hiatus from CSSI, Kevin returned
in mid-2007 and has kept busy with a variety of custom and
sculptural projects. In Kevin’s specialized niche, he combines
experience in paint and 3D sculpture, design, and project
management to successfully meet client needs.
Kevin’s special talents can be seen in recent projects such
as CMor, the oversized, blue dinosaur he created for Town
Square at the Children’s Museum of Richmond; a five-foot-tall
vitamin bottle made of wood, paint and vinyl, and an eight-foot-long
box cutter, complete with moving blades, made from wood,
foam and hardcoat.
Kevin studied fine arts in college and received his B.A.
from the University of Southern Florida. While there he painted
scenery for the Tampa Ballet, and has also created sculptures
and backdrops for Anheuser Busch theme parks, Euro Disney
and Disneyworld. He also led the paint crew that completed
a quarter-mile-long mural for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
