Ken Glucksberg
Carpentry Department Head
A professional scenic carpenter since 1983, Ken joined Chicago
Scenic in 1992 and was promoted to department head in 2000.
In this role, Ken develops carpentry bids for project proposals
and coordinates construction crews on the shop floor.
Ken supervises journeymen and production workers and appreciates
who work regularly o the shop floor; shop staff can grow
to as many as 75 employees depending on company workload. Troubleshooting and quality control on
the shop floor are Ken’s most important responsibilities.
During his tenure at Chicago Scenic, Ken has worked on a
wide variety of projects including annual Radio City
sets, GM Centennial, and annual
NFL kick-off events. Past
projects include several sets for the ABC Network, including
Good Morning America
at the new Times Square Studios; ABC
Election Coverage, and new
sets for the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Ken received his formal training at the College Conservatory
of Music at the University of Cincinnati. His regional theatre
experience includes five years as shop foreman at the Goodman
Theatre in Chicago and seasons with the Santa Fe Opera, ART
in Boston and the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
