Jean joined Chicago
Scenic in July 2007 and brought with
her more than 15 years of extensive scenic experience. That
experience prepared her well for her current responsibilities
which include cost estimation and budget management, material
selection and construction practices, overseeing project
development from concept to completion, and supervising project
installations.
Jean earned an MFA in Theatre Design & Technology from
the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Her technical
coursework there emphasized advanced technical skills such
as automation, advanced rigging and structural design. Prior
to that, she worked as Technical Director for a variety of
theaters, including Kansas City Actors Theatre, Syracuse
Stage, Light Opera Oklahoma, and Actor’s Theatre of Louisville.
In her tenure at Chicago
Scenic, Jean has managed a variety
of projects, including the build of the scenic elements for
the recent Olympic Hall of Fame Award Induction Ceremony.
This included a variety of platforms and columns with integrated
lighting elements. Jean also has managed a variety
of film shoots for Health Star Communications, scenic elements
and automation for the AIBA World Boxing opening ceremony
events in Chicago as well the Acura sales meeting in New
Orleans, the Aggrenox sales meeting in Chicago, and design
and fabrication for the “Kiss and Tell” booths for U. S.
Figure Skating televised events.
