Jean joined Chicago Scenic in July 2007 and brought with her more than 15 years of extensive scenic experience. That experience prepared her well for her current responsibilities which include cost estimation and budget management, material selection and construction practices, overseeing project development from concept to completion, and supervising project installations.

Jean earned an MFA in Theatre Design & Technology from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Her technical coursework there emphasized advanced technical skills such as automation, advanced rigging and structural design. Prior to that, she worked as Technical Director for a variety of theaters, including Kansas City Actors Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Light Opera Oklahoma, and Actor’s Theatre of Louisville.

In her tenure at Chicago Scenic, Jean has managed a variety of projects, including the build of the scenic elements for the recent Olympic Hall of Fame Award Induction Ceremony. This included a variety of platforms and columns with integrated lighting elements. Jean also has managed a variety of film shoots for Health Star Communications, scenic elements and automation for the AIBA World Boxing opening ceremony events in Chicago as well the Acura sales meeting in New Orleans, the Aggrenox sales meeting in Chicago, and design and fabrication for the “Kiss and Tell” booths for U. S. Figure Skating televised events.
